AIMS & SCOPE

Plant Physiology and Soil Chemistry (PPSC) is a broad-spectrum, peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality research across all major areas of plant physiology and soil chemistry. We welcome contributions that advance fundamental and applied understanding of:

Scope of the Journal

  • Plant physiology and biochemistry: growth and development, photosynthesis and respiration, transport and translocation, plant biochemistry, functional biotechnology, computational and synthetic plant biology.
  • Plant–environment interactions: plant–microbe interactions, responses to biotic and abiotic stress, and cross-disciplinary studies that integrate physiology with ecology and agronomy.
  • Soil science: physical, chemical, and biological processes in soils; soil fertility and management; soil formation, classification, mapping, and conservation; environmental aspects of soils; and irrigation water management.

We Particularly Encourage Submissions That

  • Provide mechanistic insights into physiological processes, moving beyond descriptive or confirmatory studies.
  • Integrate state-of-the-art methodologies across molecular, cellular, organismal, and ecosystem levels.
  • Bridge basic and applied research, including work on both model and non-model species.
  • Demonstrate new physiological mechanisms in agricultural plants with potential to improve crop efficiency and sustainability.
